While you already have many different styles of brush to choose from, you can also create your own unique brush.

To create a new brush, simply select your graphic - which can be a bitmap or a vector drawing (or a mix of both), a single object or a group - then use the Freehand Tool.

As you can see, your new brush has been created and you can begin using it immediately.

This is a very simple brush example but just take a look at some of the amazing brushes which are freely available in the TalkGraphics Xara forum.

If you have created a great new brush of your own and you want to add it to the default brushes that appear when you start up a new document, then you should save it (using Save As.. on the File menu) to the Brushes folder (which is in the Templates folder, inside the Xara Xtreme folder). Note: you have to have used the new brush first, so after you have created it apply it to a line - just like the example above - before saving it to the Brushes folder.
